Astillero Naval Federico Contessi y Cía. S.A will be exhibiting for the first time at IceFish in September.
The Argentinian shipyard has over 75 years of history and specializes in the construction and repair of fishing vessels. It has built and launched a total of 156 new vessels. All vessels are certified by RINA, Lloyds or Bureau Veritas.
Early ships were built of wood and the company later transitioned to construction in naval steel and marine-grade aluminium.
Today the company has facilities capable of building up to 8 ships simultaneously under the roof of its 4 industrial buildings located in the port of Mar del Plata, Argentina.
Vessels are delivered fully completed and, on launch day, sail under their own power, ready to begin operations
Astillero Naval Federico Contessi y Cía. S.A. is characterized by the quality of its workmanship and the meticulous attention to detail, continuously incorporating technology into its products and processes. The firm has an impeccable track record in meeting deadlines and costs.
Its workforce is a combination of experienced professionals and young people trained within the company.
All vessels built are based on designs by the company’s naval engineers, but the shipyard is also capable of constructing vessels according to specifications from other designers and architects.
President of the company, Domingo J. Contessi, says, “Despite a macroeconomic slowdown that has adjusted the pace of local fleet updates, the shipyard remains active with three deliveries scheduled for 2026. Currently, we have immediate availability for new construction, offering specialized expertise and competitive solutions for vessels between 20 and 40 meters in length."
