The IOC connects entrepreneurs, businesses, and researchers to drive innovation in the blue economy. Its goal is to maximise value creation from aquatic resources, fostering collaboration across industries to ensure sustainable and profitable growth.
Founder Þór Sigfússon and CEO, Dr. Alexandra Leeper believe in turning ideas into action, unlocking new opportunities from seafood side streams and ocean-related industries.
IceFish is the long-established Icelandic event which brings together every aspect of the commercial fishing industry, nationally and internationally, from 22-24 September 2026 at the Smárinn/Fífan Halls, Kópavogur.
IceFish and the IOC will work closely together to create topical, valuable content for the event conferences, both the existing 100% Fish for the Profit conference and a new one-day conference, Aquaculture – Driving Sustainable Growth.
There will also be close collaboration with the IOC and its growing network of ocean clusters worldwide to ensure those clusters can attend and participate in the IceFish Exhibition and Conferences.
On signing the Agreement Dr. Leeper said, “IceFish and the connected conference is a highlight of the year for us. It brings together the fisheries and 100% Fish, and now aquaculture communities from all over the world in this dynamic event where we can share knowledge and ideas, make new key connections and work towards high impact projects for sustainable and profitable seafood. Great to be signing this agreement to build to continue to build on our great collaboration.”
IceFish Event Director, Sally Wattam, commented, “We already enjoy an excellent relationship with the IOC in connection with our conference programme. We are delighted to expand this across the whole event and to partner with them to help fulfil both its and our goals to meet the needs of the commercial fishing industry.”
