Momoi Fishing Net mfg. Co. Ltd, is introducing the EcoLoop Project at at IceFish 2026 on Booth P30.
The EcoLoop Project connects used fishing nets, chemical recycling, new fishing gear and the seafood value chain to build a more sustainable fishing industry.
Momoi work with raw-material manufacture to produce chemically recycled products. Used nylon fishing nets are collected and chemically recycled at the molecular level, regenerating high-quality nylon comparable to virgin material.
Momoi then manufactures new EcoLoop Nets from these regenerated materials, without compromising the performance fishermen depend on. Testing shows strength and elongation comparable to the company's conventional nets.
EcoLoop Nets are already being used by commercial fishermen in Japan, helping reduce waste and CO₂ emissions while maintaining the reliability required at sea.
Momoi's vision goes beyond fishing gear. Through Mrico, an initiative developed by the company, it connects fishermen, seafood, restaurants and consumers to expand the value of sustainable fishing across the value chain.
At IceFish 2026, Momoi will introduce this model to the global fishing industry and explore new partnerships to expand the loop.
The company was founded in 1905. Its philosophy has always been to develop alongside the fishing industry, turning attention to the world market to promote overseas strategies. It has expanded operations to the United States, Canada, Mexico, Indonesia, and the Philippines, and now has 3 production centres around the world, building a worldwide sales network.
As Momoi Fishing Net looks to grasp a global outlook for the future of the fishing industry it continues to secure the development of fishery food resources to feed the world and renew the company as a “Momoi” of the world.
