The Insulation Monitoring System - IMS is designed to detect insulation faults and electrical leakage in vessel electrical systems.
Electrical leakage can cause extensive damage to a vessel and its equipment, resulting in costly repairs, downtime and operational disruption. With Kæling Víkurafl’s Insulation Monitoring System, operators can continuously monitor for insulation faults and quickly identify which electrical system is affected.
This enables faults to be detected and addressed at an early stage, helping prevent further damage and reduce the risk of costly failures.
Alarm signals can also be automatically integrated into an existing vessel monitoring or alarm system, where available.
The Insulation Monitoring System is available for both alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) applications and can be configured to suit the requirements of each installation.
