ICEFISH BURSARY 2026

Three scholarships are awarded to individuals – ISK 300,000. - each – to cover the cost of studying at one of the following one-year (two-year) postgraduate programs at the Icelandic School of Fisheries:
a) a program in Marel Processing Technology
b) a program in Quality Management or
c) a program in Aquaculture

The scholarship is paid in half – ISK 150,000. -, against receipt/confirmation of payment of tuition fees for the first semester of 2026 and half – ISK. 150,000. -, against receipt/confirmation of payment of tuition fees for the second semester. A grant for the second semester is only granted if the grantee has completed the first semester satisfactorily.
When evaluating applications, the following factors will be taken into account, which applicants must explain as appropriate:
1) Achievement in basic studies (Fish Technology), a) completed studies or b) practical skills
2) Work experience
3) Future plans (for studies or work)
4) Financial support from others (companies or funds)
5) Recommendation (job/study)
An advisory group consisting of representatives from the Icelandic School of Fisheries, Marel, the Association of Fisheries Companies and the National Association of Small Boat Owners, along with representatives from the Icelandic Fisheries & Aquaculture Exhibition and Conference (IceFish), will review applications and evaluate them with regard to the above factors.
