Norwegian composite specialist Brimer has recently secured a series of new contracts for land-based aquaculture projects.
This reinforces the company's position as a supplier of composite solutions across the entire aquaculture value chain.
The projects cover multiple species, production stages and locations throughout Norway, demonstrating growing demand for durable composite infrastructure for modern fish farming.
Among the new contracts are a land-based cod facility for Ode/Lumarine, halibut projects for Sande Seafarm Production and Nordic Halibut, as well as two additional salmon projects for customers that cannot yet be disclosed.
The contracts represent Brimer's strongest period of activity to date within the aquaculture segment. Deliveries include a broad range of custom-engineered composite solutions for land-based aquaculture, including fish tanks, covered tanks, walkway systems, biofilters, pump sumps, CO₂ degassers, mortality bins, centre outlets and other specialised process equipment.
Fredrik Ryslett has led Brimer's aquaculture business over the past several years and has recently been appointed Vice President Sales & Marketing.
"We are seeing strong market activity, with more producers investing in modern farming facilities that demand high operational reliability, long service life and low maintenance," says Ryslett.
"Our projects now span cod, halibut and salmon, covering production stages from broodstock, smolt and post-smolt through to grow-out. At the same time, we see increasing demand for both land-based facilities and closed containment solutions at sea. This illustrates how the market is evolving and how widely composite technology can be applied."
According to Ryslett, the common denominator across these projects is the industry's need for greater control of the production environment while reducing emissions, biosecurity risks and environmental impact.
Composite materials contribute through long service life, corrosion-free performance and minimal maintenance requirements. In addition, prefabricated and modular solutions help reduce construction costs, shorten installation time and enable facilities to become operational more quickly.
"We believe this market has significant long-term potential. Demand for robust, tailor-made composite solutions continues to grow, and we see substantial opportunities both in Norway and internationally," says Ryslett.
Brimer will be exhibiting on stand F60.
