The Scottish Ocean Cluster, a valued Supporter of the IceFish 2026 Exhibition, has been highlighting the resilience, collaboration and future of Scotland’s seafood sector at Seafood Expo Global in Barcelona
Among a delegation of 12 companies under the Seafood Scotland banner, the Scottish Ocean Cluster has showcased the quality and diversity of the nation’s seafood output.
And building on the momentum of the Scottish Ocean Cluster’s launch last year, Seafood Scotland also hosted a roundtable discussion during the Expo in collaboration with the Iceland Ocean Cluster – another IceFish Supporter – and its founder and chairman Thor Sigfusson.
The session explored opportunities for innovation, collaboration and added value across the seafood supply chain, while marking the first anniversary of the Cluster’s arrival on the global scene.
Inspired by the Icelandic model, the Scottish Ocean Cluster is designed to bring together producers, processors, researchers, entrepreneurs and government partners to realise the full value of Scotland’s seafood industry by focussing on collaboration, innovation and sustainable, zero‑waste practices in the fish and seafood by‑products sectors.
Donna Fordyce, CEO of Seafood Scotland, who will be speaking at the 100% Fish for Profit Conference at IceFish 2026, 22-24 September in Iceland, said: “We are particularly proud to be showcasing not only the quality and diversity of our sector, but also its future.”
