IceFish exhibitor, NorWorx, was selected as a trusted technical partner to support essential elements of the First Water Island, an ambitious, forward-looking aquaculture facility in Iceland.
The Island is designed to set new standards for sustainable fish farming. The project combines responsible food production with advanced technology, efficient water usage, and environmentally conscious system design.
To meet these technical demands, the project required high-quality components that could operate reliably in a challenging maritime environment—without delays, without compromises, and with full compatibility across multiple interconnected systems.
Norworx supplied a customized package of industrial-grade components designed for long-term performance, efficiency, and system stability. It included water treatment systems, high-precision components supporting filtration, flow regulation, and safe water circulation within the aquaculture environment and conveying and transfer technology, reliable pump and flow solutions enabling efficient movement of water across different system zones.
Norworx also addressed the challenges of the First Water Island project and adapted the required components to offer high resilience in cold and saline maritime conditions and exact performance tolerances for controlled water handling.
The company were also required to coordinate deliveries on a tight timeline and employ flexible sourcing due to international supply constraints.
The Norworx team managed the challenges with a combination of technical expertise, strong supplier relationships, and carefully planned logistics, enabling them to deliver every component on time, to specification, and in the required quality class.
Its contribution supports the facility’s mission to build a modern, sustainable aquaculture system capable of long-term, environmentally responsible operation.
