Associated Icelandic Ports (Faxaflóahafnir) has joined the growing Supporter programme for the Icelandic Fisheries & Aquaculture Exhibition and Conference (IceFish).
Faxaflóahafnir connect Iceland’s largest market and business region to the world and to the seas through their ports in Reykjavik, Akranes, Grundartangi and Borgarnes. It operates a diverse and integrated port system serving cargo, cruise and fishing, supporting both international trade and local industries.
Guided by a commitment to sustainability, safety and innovation, Faxaflóahafnir’s mission is to strengthen regional economic growth while ensuring responsible stewardship of the marine environment and delivering reliable, future-ready port services.
Eldar Ástþórsson, Head of Marketing & Communications, says, “"Ports are vital to Iceland, connecting the Icelandic commercial fishing and aquaculture industries with their global markets. For many years the Icelandic Fisheries & Aquaculture Exhibition and Conference has also been connecting those industries, offering valuable business and networking opportunities. With our similar aims we are delighted to support IceFish and look forward to attending in September."
From its origins in 1984 IceFish has always been the must-attend exhibition, and celebration, for the Icelandic commercial fishing industries. Over the years it has expanded to attract an international audience, bringing new business opportunities and cementing Iceland as a valuable focal point for all the latest in the fisheries, value added and processing industries, as well as the rapidly developing aquaculture sector.
The 15th edition will take place in Kópavogur, just outside Reykjavik from 22-24 September 2026 and features a range of new, topical conferences, business matchmaking, innovation features, new product presentations and the renowned Icelandic Fisheries & Aquaculture Awards, recognising excellence across the sector.
Sally Wattam, Events Director, Icefish said, “We are pleased to welcome Associated Icelandic Ports as a supporter of IceFish. The roots of IceFish are firmly in Icelandic commercial fishing, and the Ports are at the very heart of that industry. We value the Ports support and input as we continue to develop IceFish as an exhibition and conference for the future”.
